An Otherwise Perfect Farm

For my final project I documented the weekly routine of Liz Bramble, a senior at Duke University who is taking the semester off to care for, ride and train horses at a stable in Stem, North Carolina. The first time I traveled out there I had the opportunity to ride,
gather a general sense of the place and scope out what type of photographs I wanted to make. On the sequential visits I photographed everything that I possibly could. On my last two visits, I started to gather audio. I was aiming to gather a good mix of ambient sounds and Liz's voice. Finally, I decided it would be a good idea to get her to
narrate the presentation and give her a chance to talk about her life in detail. I shot a total of over 323 images for the project. Overall, I feel that the project told the story I wanted to convey to my viewers. It was a very fun and rewarding experience for both Liz and myself. Now, I hope to have a chance to use my newly acquired riding skills in the future.
